Investing In Startups

We are currently in the midst of an interesting time for technology. On the one hand, we are in the middle of a wave of technological advancements that is rapidly changing the world around us. On the other hand, we’re facing problems with the economy that have everyone a little bit wary about investing in untested technology. Does this mean that it’s a bad time to invest in technology startups?

Here are some tips for smart investing in startups:

  • Look for innovation. The average ecommerce storefront isn’t going to make a lot of money. Look for something creative instead.
  • Look for tools that can help existing technology. Find someone who makes the best shopping cart for ecommerce sites and you may have found someone who will have longevity in a changing market.
  • Make sure that the business has a plan. They need to show you that they can make this technology work on paper or they’re never going to make it work out in the real world.
  • Invest with the mindset that you may lose your money. Don’t invest money that you really don’t have.

People are still investing in startups despite changes in the economy due in no small part to the fact that technology is still moving forward rapidly despite these changes.
